Customer Reviews

1) "Once The First Few Notes Were Played It Was Confirmed, We Knew We Had Picked A Winner,
The Sound Is Very Impressive"

We are really pleased with our decision to go with the Classenti brand for our purchase of a digital piano. The courier driver you used was careful in unloading the piano. The strong packaging by the supplier helped to ensure the piano arrived in mint condition. The set up was straightforward after following the simple instructions in the manual.

The piano has good build quality, sturdy yet sleek looking with great curved lines and the polished black finish looks great. Once the first few notes were played it was confirmed, we knew we had picked a winner, the sound is very impressive. The simple layout of the buttons makes them easy to use and the manual explained how to get the different instrumental voices, practice songs etc. My daughter is really enjoying practicing on the piano.

Thanks for the great service Graham & please also thank your team on our behalf.

2) "I Found My Dream Piano At A Price I Could Afford"

Absolutely fabulous – both the service and the piano!
Having read all the info and customer reviews I didn't think that I'd be able to afford the digital piano that I wanted.

Thanks to UK Pianos, I found my dream piano at a price I could afford.

I ordered on a Sunday with a follow up to which I had a reply the next day – and my piano was delivered the day after.
My son and I are thrilled, the piano is fantastic (also a lovely piece of furniture) and we've already had a lot of pleasure playing it.

I recommend UK Pianos – fantastic service and quality. Thank you.

What our customers say…

1) "The Classenti CDP2 is exactly what we wanted for our kids to learn on"

It's exactly what we wanted for our kids to learn on. We especially like the fact it has no distractions in the form of buttons and sound effects above the keyboard. Don't get me wrong, it has lots, but it's tricky for the kids to figure it out!

It looks like a classic piano and my 6 year old's playing is coming on a treat thanks to the weighted keys etc allowing him to get his dynamics sorted. The UK Pianos guide book was invaluable and was written in plain English so any non-musician can make an informed choice about what exactly they want.

I can't thank Graham enough for his advice and booklet!

We couldn't be happier with our Classenti piano!

2) "I bought a Classenti CDP2 which is wonderful"

I chanced upon the website when searching on Google for advice on buying Digital Piano……fantastic.
The advice was solid and I felt an unbiased opinion of the available equipment..

The guidance booklet from Graham Howard Pianos was excellent. I have since recommended it to others.
I bought a Classenti CDP2 which is wonderful. A real piano touch – and for less than a Yamaha equivalent.

From the beginning to the end invaluble advice. Impeccable service and delivery.

I would not hesitate in recommending this website to anyone

3) "Good experience of buying a piano here"

Luckily, I live just a few minutes drive from the UK Piano store in Enfield. People are often suspicious when they see a shop with bargains that seem too good to be true so I didn't want to buy until I had visited myself.

The showroom is small and cramped – no money is being wasted there. There is an active piano school with classes going on. I also had the opportunity to visit the workshop where it seems Graham and the other staff really know what they are doing. In short, this is a real place with great work ethic.

There is no hard sell. The bargains are good because prices are kept to a minimum with no wastage. I am very happy with the Classenti electric piano I bought. The sound is very good and the keyboard has a great feel. I strongly recommend UK Pianos.

What our customers say…

"Positive reviews of UK Pianos far outweighed the negative"

A comprehensive service in an area where it is difficult to access clear information about a specific type of piano and purchase schemes

The internet offers so much information both positive and negative about different dealers and providers of pianos with so may different prices your head may begin to spin!. I chose UK pianos, regardless of some negative reviews on the internet – the positive far outweighed the negative. The rent to buy scheme on the Classenti CDP2 in black satin suited me very well and seemed a good deal and gave me instant access to a piano. When phoning UK pianos they were very helpful.

All in all up to this point in time my experience of UK pianos has been excellent.

"I was looking for a digital piano with a firm realistic keyboard action and that is exactly what the Classenti has, perfect"

Hi Graham,

My CDP2 arrived safely and we assembled it without trouble. The main feature I was looking for in a digital piano was a
firm realistic keyboard action and that is exactly what the Classenti has, perfect. No unnecessary frills, just a good solid piano with the most important essentials such as good sounds, two track recording, metronome etc. I am amazed at the low price for such a good instrument.

Many thanks.

Classenti CDP2 Features

Sound

High resolution sound source. Digitally sampled in Japan.

88 Full Size, Fully Weighted Piano Keys

Represents the full 7¼ octave range of an upright or grand piano. The keys are exactly the same size as a real piano.

Touch Sensitive Keys

The harder you strike the key, the louder it sounds. Gives added expression to your music.

Touch Sensitivity Levels: 5. This allows you to play each note at 5 different volume levels (p, mp, mf, f, ff).

Graded Hammer Action Keyboard

With heavier key weighting in the bass, getting progressively lighter as you go up the keyboard. This mimics the exact feel of an upright or grand piano.

Sound Source

Japanese engineers created the Classenti sound by combining a multitude of tones from the world's finest concert grand pianos. These engineers didn't just take the sound from one grand piano they took the richest, most vibrant ones; enhanced them, then came up with a digitally sampled version that's quite unique. I don't know how they did this, but the result is a clean, piano sound that's incredibly realistic.

8 Instrumental Voices (In addition, each voice can be combined with another. This creates a total of 15 different sounds)

Piano 1, Piano 2 (Brighter sound. Good for jazz), Electric Piano 1, Electric Piano 2, Harpsichord, Organ, Strings and Vibraphone.

The instrumental voices, effects, reverb, chorus, metronome and other features are all accessed from just three buttons. These buttons are located on the left cheek, which is next to the bottom note on the piano.

Sliding Key Cover

The sliding key cover is the same colour as the piano. It protects your piano keys from getting chipped, prevents them from getting ruined by liquid spills, and stops dust from getting in-between or underneath the keys.

"A particular feature I like is that you can close the piano when not in use protecting the keys from dust and little sticky fingers", Wendy Coleman, Bristol

Built-in Speakers

2 x 20 watts – that’s 40 watts stereo amplification! A large volume range.

Record and Play Back

This feature allows you to record your own music. All you need to do is press the ‘record’ button and start playing. When you’ve finished playing, press the ‘play’ button and it will play back your song. The recording feature is also compatible with PC music file formats. In other words, you can record yourself in a file format that can then be transferred to other media (CDs, MP3 etc.)

Built-in Metronome

No need to buy one, it's built-in. Essential for learning how to play in time. You can adjust the speed to suit the music you are playing.

Voltage Adjustment

The Classenti CDP2 has a built-in transformer which allows you to use the piano in any Country. It automatically adjusts to your Country's voltage!

Power Adaptor

AC mains adaptor with UK plug included.

3 Pedals: Sustain, Soft and Sostenuto

Sustain pedal. This is the pedal on the right. On upright pianos it is sometimes referred to as a ‘damper pedal’. This pedal allows you to sustain any note, or notes, without having to hold the key down.

Soft pedal. This is the pedal on the left. Pressing this down makes the sound a lot quieter. It’s very useful when you’re required to play something very delicate.

Sostenuto pedal. This pedal is in the middle. Used mainly by experienced pianists. The sostenuto pedal sustains only notes that are depressed at the time the pedal is depressed. More proficient players use it when a note, or notes need to be sustained without being disturbed when the right pedal comes into play.

Key weight Control

Prefer a heavier or lighter touch? No problem, just use the key weight control button to select from three settings: Standard, heavy and light. The piano’s default setting is standard. The keys remain touch sensitive on all settings.

Cabinet (Keyboard, Base, Legs, Pedal board)

  • Extremely strong, hard wearing cabinet and base
  • Really easy to assemble or take apart (only 4 hand-tight wing nuts to secure keyboard to base)
  • Easy to move the piano around (even on your own)
  • Elegant, stylish, curved edge design. Looks stunning in any home
  • Almost full backboard for greater stability
  • Available colours: Black satin, dark rosewood, polished ebony, polished white, polished rosewood, cherry, maple or mahogany

User Panel

Easy to use control panel that's tucked away neatly at the left hand end of the keyboard section.

Fixed Wooden Stand

The fixed wooden stand with all 3 pedals built-in is included in the price. With just 4 hand-tight wing nuts to secure the stand to the keyboard section the CDP2 can be put together or taken apart with ease.

Music Desk (Folding)

Extra long (curved corner) music desk. This comes in really handy when having to spread out pages of sheet music. The music desk is on two hinges. It folds down if you need to store or transport your piano. And it can also be easily removed.

Headphones

2 x Headphone jacks to connect headphones. Two players can play with headphones at the same time.

64 Note Polyphony

This allows you to play up to 64 notes simultaneously (I know you only have 10 fingers, but this includes notes held down by the pedal).

MIDI In/Out

You can connect to your computer and other MIDI compatible hardware. Allows interaction with piano tuition PC software, and music notation software such as Sibelius, Finale, NotationComposer, MagicScore, MusicTime, QuickScore and many more. If you're into composing them the MIDI In/Out is a must.

AUX In (also known as 'Line in' or 'audio in')

The Aux-in (or auxiliary-in) allows you to connect external music sources (with RCA outputs) such as your PDA or MP3 player.

AUX Out (also known as 'Line out' or 'audio out')

If you want to give a live performance, connect your Classenti piano to your hi-fi system through the AUX-out (or auxiliary-out).

Transpose

Change your piano’s pitch to play along with other instruments such as trumpet, clarinet, etc. Or make some musical pieces more comfortable for singers.

Reverb

This produces a slight echo on each note to mimic the sound a grand piano makes in a concert hall. The Classenti CDP2 offers 4 levels of reverb.

Dual Voice With Layer Balance

Choose any two sounds and merge them together. A very nice combination is piano combined with strings.

Master Volume Switch

You can turn the sound right down for late night playing, or up to its maximum for loud performances.

Power Switch

You can turn your piano on or off without having to reach for the mains socket.

More Features:

  • 8 demo songs
  • 32 practice songs

Available Colours: Black satin, dark rosewood, polished ebony, cherry, maple, mahogany, polished white or polished rosewood

Black satin will look particularly good in your home when accompanied with dark wood furniture. Black is the most versatile (and safest choice) out of all wood colours. And it blends in well with most shades of brown or grey.

Dark rosewood is a dark colour that has a black and dark red natural wood grain finish. Dark rosewood goes really well with dark furniture.

Polished ebony is a highly polished, mirror finish. It's vastly superior to any satin finish. Polished ebony is harder wearing due to there being no edges or joins. Fingers marks and scratches appear more pronounced though. Polished ebony looks exceptionally smart and professional. And it will go with practically any colour scheme in your home. It looks particularly good against wooden floors or oak furniture.

Cherry is a light wood with a hint of orange.

Maple is a light colour (similar to beech, but with more wood grains) and slightly lighter than pine. It's a satin maple finish that has a smooth, almost silky appearance. Its natural wood grain effect completes it beautifully.

Mahogany is a mid to dark brown colour with a dark brown, natural wood grain effect. This finish goes will all shades of brown furniture including: mid to dark oak, all types of mahogany, or walnut. It also looks good on oak floors.

Polished white is a highly polished, mirror finish. It's vastly superior to any satin finish. Polished white is harder wearing due to there being no edges or joins.

Polished rosewood is a deep, warm, dark colour with a hint of red. It's a highly polished, mirror finish with natural wood grain effect. Polished rosewood is vastly superior to any satin finish. And it's harder wearing due to there being no edges or joins.

Piano Dimensions: Length 138cm (54.3 inches), Height 82cm (32.3 inches), Depth 42cm (16.5 inches)
Music Rest Height: 17cm (7 inches)
Music Rest Width: 63cm (25 inches)
Floor to bottom of keybed (leg room): 65cm (25.5 inches)

Weight of keyboard section: 40kg (88 pounds)
Overall Weight: 50kg (110 pounds)

Assembly

  • Really easy to put together
  • Simple assembly instructions in English are included
  • Only 4 hand screws to connect the piano to its base
  • No electric knowledge required. No drilling, no wires to attach
  • Approximate assembly time 15 minutes (all you need is a screw driver)

All holes are pre-drilled. The keyboard section comes in one complete unit. In the assembly pack you get 4 screws to connect the legs and bottom board, 4 screws to attach the back panel, and 4 hand screws to secure the keyboard to its base (the pedals are already attached to the bottom board). That's all there is to it! The piano can be assembled on your own, but we recommend you get help to lift the keyboard section onto its base.

Storing The Piano Away

The Classenti CDP2 digital piano can easily be taken apart and stored away. Just undo the 4 wing nuts and the keyboard section comes away from its base.

Advantages Of The CDP2 Over The CDP1

The main advantage is the sound quality. The CDP2 has a warmer, deeper, more resonant piano sound. This is due to its even better sampling, larger and more powerful speakers, and speaker position.

The CDP2 has a sliding key cover. This will protect your piano keys from getting chipped or ruined by liquid spills. It also stops dust from getting in-between and under the keys.

The almost full backboard on the CDP2 provides a much stronger and more stable piano. The main panels are less likely to be damaged if you intend moving your piano around a lot.

If you use a lot of individual sheet music, rather than books, the extra length music desk on the CDP2 comes in really handy.

The CDP2’s simplified user panel was designed to reduce the chances of being distracted while playing. Only 3 buttons are viewable on the user panel.

What our customers say…

"It plays beautifully – not at all like and electric piano"

Hi, My classenti piano arrived on the due date. We assembled it that night without the mannual. It plays beautifully – not at all like and electric piano ( I,m such a ludite). I am amazed I can still play after more than 10 years. There's hope for a lot of people!

Freddie 8 is having his first lessons with me and is being taught traditionally. I am teaching Henry 6 with colours and by ear. It really helps the piano has no distracting "bells and whistles". Tilly 3 is singing "Once upon a dream" from Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

Thank you for the electonic mannual. Very environ friendly. Being a bit slow, I had wondered where it was.

The service we have had from you has been excellent, thank you

"I fell in love with this instrument straight away, and ended up taking one home with me"

I had decided to take up piano playing after a gap of many years, having recently semi-retired. This time I had my heart set on a digital piano. Not knowing much about them, I contacted Graham Howard for his advice on what to look for.

After a few friendly emails, and receiving very helpful advice, I decided to drive from Northampton to Enfield to visit the showroom. There, I was shown the Classenti CDP2, and given a short demonstration. I fell in love with this instrument straight away, and ended up taking one home with me.

It was very easy to assemble, having downloaded the instruction manual from the internet.

Once assembled, this piano makes a wondrous addition to any room, a really beautiful looking, and at the same time very solid, instrument.

To play it is to be transported into another world, the sounds are so authentic. The extras are an added bonus, with just enough not to get too complicated, for instance 5 instrumental voices, various demo songs to listen to, a metronome, and reverb are my particular favourites.

This has given me the enthusiasm to take lessons again, because the Classenti deserves to be played well, and I hope one day that I will be able to do it the justice that it deserves. It will certainly be fun trying.

Alan G Mitchell, Northampton

"In regards to its sound, build quality etc. You have not let me down. Straight away the default piano sound was authentic and instantly reminded me of the acoustic piano"

Hi Graham,

I received delivery of a Classenti CPD2 in polished black. I
have only had it a few days so still working through the instruction manual! However, first impressions are excellent. It was a bit of leap of faith with the Classenti as I had no opportunity to try one out before I bought it.

However, I relied on your guide book in regards to its sound, build quality etc. You have not let me down. Straight away the default piano sound was authentic and instantly reminded me of the acoustic piano in Sunday School many years ago.

The demo tunes show off the full potential of sounds that can be produced, the sounds are rich and have good presence. I am very pleased with the overall quality and look of the piano.

While it is not endowed with dozens of buttons an dials it has a simple elegance and looks great in the lounge.

With thanks

"I would recommend it to anyone about to buy their first piano. My daughter can't stop playing it !"

Hi Graham, just a quick word about the piano I bought from you last month – Classenti Digital Piano CDP2 Dark Rosewood. I must say I am very impressed by it's build quality and sound. Would have had to pay £400+ extra for a similar spec Kawai which I tried in a local shop.

I find the aux-in facility very handy especially since I have a Yamaha synthesiser which I can control with the piano via Midi. The quality of the other limited voices are not as good
as the main piano sound, but we as a family use it as a piano only which is why we bought it in the first place.

Just a small quibble regarding the use of headphones; level is quite low and slight distortion occurs when volume turned up to max. Overall a good quality digital piano, would recommend it to anyone about to buy their first piano, my daughter can't stop playing! (in her own unique way) it, many thanks,

"The buttons are almost self-explanatory"

I’m delighted with the piano, and the manual is no problem. The buttons are almost self-explanatory or easy to work out,
though I think I’ll need to experiment a little more to get the most out of all the features. That’s the case with any versatile product!

"Your technician was punctual, knowledgeable and very helpful indeed, so all round a good result"

Hi Graham

Doubtless you're aware, but Jerry was here yesterday fixing the keyboard. Many thanks for arranging for him to do so. I didn't really know what the fault was, but it was explained to me and it's clear why the unit wasn't working properly. Everything is OK now.

I'm very pleased to have it back, and, listening to Jerry's assessment of various different models I'm also please to have that quality of board. I have to say that your technician was punctual, knowledgeable and very helpful indeed, so all round a good result.

Thanks, Adrian Taylor, Hatherleigh, Devon, UK

"You kindly sent your piano fixer up from London to Leicester and he did a fantastic job"

Dear Graham

I recently bought a digital piano from you (about June) but it had some sound problems. You kindly sent your piano fixer up from London to Leicester and he did a fantastic job.
My daughter is delighted now that the noise she complained of has gone. I have been meaning to thank you but have not got around to it. Thank you for your support. I hope you have a Happy and prosperous Christmas / New Year!

" think your excellent customer service combined with the 2 years warranty would compensate or outweigh for the aforementioned"

The sound is very nice and the touch quite heavy. I did not feel there was a distinctive difference between 'hard, soft, and normal'

The polished ebony look is just fantastic. unfrtunately when I was removing the selotape, a part of the silver paint came out. this made it look like an eyesore.

The price: definitely not a competitve price when compared to yamaha clavinova 220 PE. I have mostly used piano voices. I think they are ok. Speed of delivery was excellent despite the fact I had the piano delivered on one day and the stool on another day, but your communication was excellent.

helpfulness I consider the most important thing. You have been very helpful. I give 10/10 on this.

In conclusion: think your excellent customer service combined with the 2 years warranty would compensate or outweigh for the aforementioned.

I've been looking on internet for some time now as I needed to buy a digital piano. I carefully read all your comments including your    guide to buying digital piano which I found extremely useful, thank you!

After some time I made up my mind and decided to buy Classenti CDP2, the specs sounded good to me and the fact that it had heavy weighted keys was the major aspect that made me buy this
piano. When it finally arrived I was chuffed, my first digital piano, of course I was excited.

I knew it would be different from the usual upright piano I had and it would take some time getting used to it. The key touch was perfect, just what I was hoping for.

"My wife hasn't stopped playing it!"

My wife is delighted with her piano and hasn't stopped playing since I set it up on her birthday 2.5 weeks ago – she's really coming on too!

Thanks

"It looks very smart and sounds just like the real piano"

Ordered my Classenti CDP2 on Friday and it was delivered the following Monday. I am very pleased with this model in Ebony black gloss. It looks very smart and sounds just like the real piano my teacher uses. It is nice to have the alternative voices (organ, harpsichord etc) and other gizmos.
It also has a lid like a real piano

"It would be better to see the numbers on the metronome – otherwise the piano is great"

Dear Graham

Wanted to say many thanks to you and Rena for all your help in me renting the Classenti Piano (CDP2) quite recently.

My daughter was very excited.

The only other criticism my daughter has with the piano is the Metronome – although it works, it would be more better to see the numbers – she would rather see the numbers to detect more quickly which one to use.

Otherwise the piano is great. We got the cherry colour and it fits her room (which is in beechwood) so nicely.

Again many thanks.

"It feels so like an upright – it is a pleasure playing it"

Hi Graham,

Just wanted to drop you a line to say that the Classenti CDP2 was delivered on Saturday evening. Thank you to Mark who delivered it.

So far it has lived up to my expectations as to the feel of the keys and the tone, the sound is unbeliveable, just what I was looking for in a digital piano.

Thank you for your advice about digital pianos etc:,

I am at last enjoying myself on the piano. Whether I'll master it who knows! but at least I now have a piano that feels so like an upright, or as close as possible to one, that it is a pleasure playing it.

"The tone and weighting of the keys is very realistic"

Thank-you! The assembly was very easy, and so far, we are delighted with the piano and our daughter's skill level has improved significantly (she's working towards grade 5 piano now). The tone and weighting of the keys is very realistic.

Best regards,

"I am very pleased with it"

Hi Graham,

Just to let you know, I got the piano that I bought from you fairly recently (the Classenti CDP2 in cherry), and am very pleased with it. It's a nice piano.
I did the grades up to grade 5 when I was in my teens, then my music teacher retired; however I practiced pretty intensively till I was 18 or 19 and became pretty good.

Now I don't have a lot of time to play but enjoy very much the time that I have and am getting back to something like how I used to be when I was young.

Questions and Comments

Hi Graham,

Thank you for your book which I downloaded . I've just realised that I do have the latest updated book.

The advice in it is brilliant, but it still leaves me in a bit of a muddle.

I like the Classenti CDP2, it has a very nice sound and as you say the key's are heavy, which is just what I'm looking for.

With just the basics on the piano I'm looking, I don't want all the gizmo's that other piano's have, this piano seems to be just what I've been looking for, for ages now

Patrick

David,

I had the problem of the piano not sounding. Just to update you, the new adapter worked beautifully, and the piano is back up and running.

Many thanks,
Fergus Keating

Hi Graham,

I live in Anglesey and we do not have many shops where one can try the pianos . I am hoping to go further afield to play more very soon. My local shop in Bangor has 2 – a YDP140 Arius and a CLP 320 Yamaha. The latter I can buy for 829. As I shall be teaching piano on the instrument I want to be sure I make the right decision. I just wish I could have played a Classenti CDP2 as it seems to tick the boxes for me. I visited a store in Portmadog yesterday and played a slection of Kawai pianos- definitely not for me.

Thanks for your interest.

Best wishes,

Linda

Reply/ Hi Linda

Yes, the Classenti CDP2 is a lovely piano. It's
only available online, so you would have to buy
it blind.

You won't regret it though… The sound and
touch on the CDP2 is very realistic.

The Yamaha CLP320 is also a good piano.

Although the touch is not quite as heavy as the
Classenti, the sound is really nice.

Yours pianistically,

Graham Howard

Hi Graham,

Could you please tell me whether the Classenti CDP2 keyboard comes apart
from the backboard?
Your site mentions that it comes away from the base, but I'm not sure what
you define as the base.

I live in a flat where there is no way I can get my upright piano up the
winding stairs (it's sadly still living all lonely at my parents house), so
I'm mainly looking for something that will fit up the stairs and acts like a
real piano.

BTW I'm enjoying reading your piano buyer's manual. It's well written
and interesting.

Many thanks,

Ivanka

Reply/ Hi Ivanka

Yes, the keyboard of the CDP2 comes apart
from the backboard.

It's very easy and quick to put together or
take apart. Just 4 handtight screws secure
it to its base.

The base consists of:

  • 2 legs
  • Backboard
  • Pedal board

Yours pianistically,

Graham Howard

Why is the action on the Classenti digital piano so realistic?

After years of research and development, Classenti has patented a new piano action mechanism called “Real Hammer Action Mechanic With Adjustable Action Point”.

In plain English, this really means: The moving parts that are connected to the piano key have been designed so it feels exactly like you're playing a real piano.

Hi Graham

I found your book very useful as I have no experience of digital pianos. I learned piano as a child and had an old upright in our house up till a few years ago when we got rid of it. My husband gave me a keyboard which I was grateful for but the keys don’t feel the same as a piano. However on reading your book I see that many digital pianos are similar to the feel of a real piano and I think I would go for the Classenti CDP2. I’m not in a position right now to buy the piano but hopefully within the next few months I will be able to. I’ve got the opportunity to try out a Yamaha Clavinova range so that will let me be able to compare the different touch.
I’ll also need to decide which finish to go for. We’re going to be getting new furniture for the room the piano will be in and it will be very light oak, so I don’t know whether to go for the maple finish or the polished ebony as a contrast.

I’ll get back to you when I’m ready to make my purchase but thanks, meantime, for your help.

Regards
Sheena

Hi Graham,

I'm almost positive that I'm going for the Classenti CDP2 piano. I like the the style of the piano and the sound as opposed to the CDP1.
Not only that there are no annoying buttons or lights in front of you which would distract me while I'm trying to learn and play the piano.

It has the heavy weight keys which I want in a piano.

Regards

Patrick.
