What our customers say…

"My only concern is that i got something that was as close to a real piano as possible and in the Classenti i've got exactly what i wanted"

The piano is fantastic,I initialy had my heart set on a Yamaha, from reading about them at your site, However i just missed the price rise and wasn't prepared to spend the asking amount.

My only concern is that i got something that was as close to a real piano as possible and not a phony keyboard sound and in the Classenti i've got exactly what i wanted, I can't imagine another model being any more real than this is.

Pity i couldn't get my hands on the yamaha, but i'm just begining to learn and the Classenti is quality, by the way, my favorite sound is the default voice setting and the reverb at 3

Fantastic!

"We unpacked it quickly and kids started getting

My CDP3 came to Bulgaria last week,May 5th. It was received just as sent – not any damage to the air-bubblepacking,
in spite of my fear that something could go wrong during shipping.

We unpacked it quickly and kids started getting
to know it start away. They already had 2 piano lessons till today and are very happy.

Best Regards, Leven

Classenti CDP3 Reviews

Classenti CDP3 Features

You Get:

Sound

High resolution sound source. Digitally sampled in Japan.

88 Full Size, Fully Weighted Piano Keys

Represents the full 7¼ octave range of an upright or grand piano. The keys are exactly the same size as a real piano.

Touch Sensitive Keys

The harder you strike the key, the louder it sounds. Gives added expression to your music.

Dynamic Levels: 5. This allows you to play each note at 5 different volume levels (p, mp, mf, f, ff).

Patented Graded Hammer Action Keyboard With Action Point

With heavier key weighting in the bass, getting progressively lighter as you go up the keyboard. This mimics the exact feel of an upright or grand piano.

Sound Source

Japanese engineers created the Classenti sound by combining a multitude of tones from the world's finest concert grand pianos. These engineers didn't just take the sound from one grand piano they took the richest, most vibrant ones; enhanced them, then came up with a digitally sampled version that's quite unique. I don't know how they did this, but the result is a clean, piano sound that's incredibly realistic.

8 Instrumental Voices (In addition, each voice can be combined with another. This creates a total of 15 different sounds)

Piano 1, Piano 2 (Brighter sound. Good for jazz), Electric Piano 1, Electric Piano 2, Harpsichord, Organ, Strings, Vibraphone

Key Cover

A real, solid piano lid that closes over the keys (much nicer than a sliding key cover!) Protects your piano keys from getting chipped, prevents them from getting ruined by liquid spills, and stops dust from getting in-between and underneath the keys. The lid is in the same finish as the piano.

Built-in Speakers

2 x 30 watts – that’s 60 watts of stereo amplification!

Record and Play Back

This feature allows you to record your own music. All you need to do is press the ‘record’ button and start playing. When you’ve finished playing, press the ‘play’ button and it will play back your song. The recording feature is also compatible with PC music file formats. In other words, you can record yourself in a file format that can then be transferred to other media (CDs, MP3 etc.)

Built-in Metronome

No need to buy one, it's built-in. Essential for learning how to play in time. You can adjust the speed to suit the music you are playing.

3 Pedals: Sustain, Soft and Sostenuto

Sustain pedal. This is the pedal on the right. On upright pianos it is sometimes referred to as a ‘damper pedal’. This pedal allows you to sustain any note, or notes, without having to hold the key down.

Soft pedal. This is the pedal on the left. Pressing this down makes the sound a lot quieter. It’s very useful when you’re required to play something very delicate.

Sostenuto pedal. This pedal is in the middle. Used mainly by experienced pianists. The sostenuto pedal sustains only notes that are depressed at the time the pedal is depressed. More proficient players use it when a note, or notes need to be sustained without being disturbed when the right pedal comes into play.

Key weight Control (Touch sensitivity)

Prefer a heavier or lighter touch? No problem, just use the key weight control button to select from three settings: Standard, heavy and light. The piano’s default setting is standard. The keys remain touch sensitive on all settings.

Music Desk (Folds on a hinge)

Extra long music desk. This comes in really handy when having to spread out pages of sheet music. Fold up your music desk when your piano is not in use, this will protect it from getting damaged.

Cabinet (Keyboard, Base, Legs, Pedal board)

  • Extremely strong, hard wearing cabinet and base
  • Can be moved around on your own. It's easier with two people though
  • Elegant, stylish, curved edge design. Looks stunning in any home
  • Full backboard for extra stability
  • Choice of: Polished Ebony, Polished White, Polished Mahogany, Polished Walnut, Polished Rosewood, or Mahogany Satin

Cabinet

Looks just like an upright piano, only more compact and less than one third the weight! Elegant, stylish, curved edge design. Looks stunning in any home. It also has a full length backboard for super strong stability. Comes in one complete unit.

User Panel

Easy to use control panel that's tucked away neatly at the left hand end of the keyboard section.

Headphones

2 x Headphone jacks to connect headphones. Two players can play with headphones at the same time.

64 Note Polyphony

This allows you to play up to 64 notes simultaneously (I know you only have 10 fingers, but this includes notes held down by the pedal).

MIDI In/Out

You can connect to your computer and other MIDI compatible hardware. Allows interaction with piano tuition PC software, and music notation software such as Sibelius, Finale, NotationComposer, MagicScore, MusicTime, QuickScore and many more. If you're into composing them the MIDI In/Out is a must.

AUX In (also known as 'Line in' or 'audio in')

The Aux-in (or auxiliary-in) allows you to connect external music sources (with RCA outputs) such as your PDA or MP3 player.

AUX Out (also known as 'Line out' or 'audio out')

If you want to give a live performance, connect your Classenti piano to your hi-fi system through the AUX-out (or auxiliary-out).

Transpose

Change your piano’s pitch to play along with other instruments such as trumpet, clarinet, etc. Or make some musical pieces more comfortable for singers.

Reverb

This produces a slight echo on each note to mimic the sound a grand piano makes in a concert hall.

Brilliance

Adjust the brightness to your liking.

Dual Voice With Layer Balance

Choose any two sounds and merge them together. A very nice combination is piano combined with strings.

Master Volume Switch

You can turn the sound right down for late night playing, or up to its maximum for loud performances.

Power Switch

You can turn your piano on or off without having to reach for the mains socket.

More Features:

  • 8 demo songs
  • 32 practice songs
  • 2 track sequencer. Approximately 5,000 notes

Questions

Q/ I'm interested in the Classenti CDP3 Polished Ebony digital piano.

Please could you give me some more information about how the 2 year warranty would work as we are in Glasgow. Also please could you let me have some more details about the 0% finance deal that you offer.

A/ The 2 year warranty is from us. If you had a problem then all you would need to do is call us. We would then send a technician to your home to sort it out. We have many technicians in the Glasgow area. So it would be very easy to arrange this.

With the finance deal you would need to pay 10% of the piano's price. The remaining can be spread over 12 months interest free. If you would like to discuss this further then please call us on 020 8367 2080.

Q/ Is there a point on the volume dial which I should set it to so that it plays at the equivalent volume as the default level of an acoustic piano?

Many thanks for the CDP3 which I bought from you a few months ago. I have really been enjoying playing it but have a quick query which I wonder if you could help me with please?

Is there a point on the volume dial which I should set it to so that it plays at the equivalent volume as the default level of an acoustic piano. Having a digital piano is great in terms of being able to use headphones, but the problem is that when I play aloud I have no idea what level I should be setting the volume at, which means I could be kidding myself into thinking that I am playing a gentle piece with beautifully controlled pianissimo when in fact it is the volume dial rather than my fingers achieving that effect. There certainly seems to be a difference in volume depending on whether listening to it aloud or through the headphones so the problem is I think I am doing quite well when I practice and then in my lessons don't seem to have the control over the notes that I thought I did!

There doesn't seem to be anything in the instructions I was emailed to indicate where one should turn the dial to, to replicate an acoustic piano, so I was wondering (if you don't know the answer already) as you have both the CDP3 and acoustic pianos at your premises, whether you would be able to tell me? I know that sounds a bit of a stupid comment as clearly these pianos as touch responsive so the volume is to controlled by the weight of the strike from your fingers, but if you were to play both the acoustic and and the CDP3 with the same level of intensity, you should be able to work it out?

I do hope that makes sense and you can help?!
With many thanks

Yours sincerely, Alex

A/ Hi Alex

You make a very good point.

With the CDP3 I would adjust the volume
dial so it is about 3/4. This should give
the approximate volume output of an acoustic piano.

It is not possible to give you an exact setting as
it depends on the acoustic piano you are trying
to compare it to…

Small uprights give much less volume than tall ones.
And grand pianos – especially with the lid open –
give even more.

I hope this helps you.

Graham Howard
