Richard Meyrick

Visit internationally acclaimed virtuoso pianist Richard Meyrick's new website and meet a passionate teacher and 100-concert-a year performer.

His PianoMan programme, generously sponsored by Man Group plc, currently takes Richard to 191 schools serving mostly the less-privileged areas of Great Britain. The wonderful feedback from the schools has enabled his making of two DVDs and four CDs for free distribution to some 12,000 youngsters and Richard has been enabled by his sponsors to bring more than 20 young players to London for lessons with him - their fees and expenses all paid.

Richard Meyrick established The Piano Studio in the City of London in 1998 to teach busy professionals seeking respite from the office for an hour to renew their piano skills or to learn piano for the first time – uniquely, here is a virtuoso concert artist willing to teach piano for beginners!

Richard’s impressive student roster includes lawyers, judges, scientists, bankers, entrepreneurs and financiers. Tables are turned on students, many of whom are at the top of their professions.

At The Piano Studio, they don’t make the decisions. They follow Richard's piano tuition in a relaxing and energising hour of piano-playing. Richard Meyrick is a piano teacher who tailors lessons to each student’s ability and ambition. He dares you to try harder, encourages when confidence flags, calms nerves, exudes enthusiasm and congratulates progress, no matter how small.

Richard's packed concert schedule demands that he keep fit, but time is always short. He developed a revolutionary series of exercises to maintain finger independence, strength and agility. He has just published these 15-Minute Pioneer Finger Workouts for all levels of pianists or keyboard players. The exercises are short on time and long on impact. You can purchase a copy on Richard's website (thepianostudio.co.uk), and get started today.

Download the free video extracts to see Richard demonstrate his approach to keeping finger-fit!

In 2008 & 2009 Richard will tour his new Pianists' Field Hospital throughout the English speaking world. The Pianists' Field Hospital is a half-day triage and treatment seminar for universities, colleges, conservatories and schools in which students and tutors examine the anatomy of a pianist on the brink of turning professional. The formative years of study and early professional development are critical and Richard knows the hurdles and pitfalls that must be overcome and imparts insider secrets. His rewarding and thought-provoking consultation serves as both panacea to students and a Professional Development Forum for faculty members.
