Hi, Graham,
"My new piano was delivered yesterday. It is a
Clavinova CLP320. I ordered it through ukpianos website from Thomann.
I chose this model after reading your remarks and
the reviews of
other people who have bought this piano. So, thank-you very much indeed for the guidance I received
from yourself and your other customers' reviews.
I have been practising the excercises set out in your
lessons, and I can understand how your recommended approach will lead to an early feel for the keys
and their location. I will look at the "Rocket Piano
Course" next. However, I must thank you
also for your very helpful initiation into the piano."

Assembly
The piano comes flat-packed and is easy to assemble (instructions in English provided). The
electronics and keyboard are fixed in - all you have to do is assemble the base.
There are four screws that fix the base to the keyboard, four to fix the base together and a few
smaller screws to fit the back board. The screw holes are already made and no gluing is required. Even the screw
driver is provided!
I do advise two people to do the job though - purely because of the keyboard's weight - It is heavy
and safer to have a helping hand when lifting it on to the base.

Yamaha CLP320 Reviews
Yesterday I received my new digital piano Clavinova CLP 320. The
only piece I remembered to play was the very well-known bagatelle “Für Elise”. Surprisingly after over 5 years of
non-practicing I manage quite well.
For me this Clavinova is a “Grand piano”. The touch is better than on my old upright, and the sound is better by
far. A friend who played yesterday on the piano tells me that the key weight seems like on a real piano. (I don’t
know for how much time). I am very pleased by my acquisition, I would like to re-learn my pieces and, maybe, over
few years I will buy a CLP 380.

The Yamaha record function is very useful for playing back what
Katherine (my daughter) plays.
The feel of the keyboard appears to be very realistic to a beginner
like myself.
One thing that I didn't think of before is the variable sound
level. This is very useful in case you have to a call or if our other daughter is also doing something in the
living room (where the piano is located).

Thanks, Graham. I bought, on your advice, a Yamaha CLP 320 from a shop here
in Belfast. Much as I would have liked to buy from you I thought that, in
terms of aftercare, not to say delivery in the run-up to Christmas, it might
be advisable to go to a local retailer.
Your advice, though, was very greatly appreciated and I have already steered
several friends towards your website.
All good wishes for the new year

Hi Graham
Having read your excellent digital piano guide I have decided to
purchase a Yamaha CLP320 as a first piano for my 11 year old daughter.
As this will be a Christmas present I would like the piano delivering to
my office and then I will transport the piano to my home on or around
Christmas Eve.
My question therefore is probably an unusual one which is to ask for the
dimensions of the box(es) that to piano comes in so that I can decide on
the mode of transportation from the office to my home.
Many thanks
Russell
Reply/ Hi Russell

43cm x 57cm x 150cm

Hi!
I'm on my little journey of buying my first piano here in Sydney, Aus. I decided that for my needs, I would go
with a digital. I've found a great deal in a local shop's online store. They are offering a Yamaha CLP320 for
1600AUD$ instead of the usual 2500AUD$. The reason for this price is that the unit they are selling is an
ex-display with, as they said, minor marks. Is this worth considering? I am not sure about the amount of usage
display models are subjected to. I'd personally prefer a new unit but the absolutely huge discount is enticing.
Your thoughts?
Thanks very much!
Regards,
Jean
Reply/ Hi Jean
This 'looks' like a good deal on paper, but, investigating further...
The Yamaha CLP320 should sell new for about 1500AUD$ - 1600AUD$ anyway.
I advise going back to the shop to negotiate a better price!
Yours pianistically,
Graham Howard

Hi Graham,
I am still planning to buy a piano - just not sure exactly how I'm going to
pay for it yet!
I think I've made my mind up to buy a Clavinova CLP 320 - and I want the
gloss black finish, which of course is the most expensive choice!
However when spending that amount of money I want to be happy with my
purchase - not wonder a few years down the line why I didn't just wait and
save up the few extra hundred pounds required.
There is a website (www.reidys.com) which offers finance deals. Over the
three years that it takes to pay for the piano one ends up paying an
additional £300 overall - a pretty high rate of interest.
So I'm still weighing up my options, but thanks to your advice will NOT be
buying the 15 year old Clavinova that's available locally.
I'll let you know when I finally make my mind up and buy something.
Many thanks,
Juliet
