Yamaha PSR295

Yamaha PSR295  Discontinued. Check out the new models here.

Yamaha's 61-key PSR295 is designed for children or adults who are interested in learning at their own pace while having fun at the same time.

The Yamaha PSR295 includes the built-in, upgraded Yamaha Education Suite (YES IV) with exercises, interactive lessons and the innovative "Your Tempo" learning mode, which allows the user to learn songs by progressing at a suitable rate and repeat any difficult sections.

Expandability and computer connectivity is easy and affordable with onboard Flash ROM and a USB connection.

Other features of the Yamaha PSR295 include a 6-track sequencer for recording songs and performances, plus 487 XGlite/GM voices, including Yamaha's ultra realistic Portable Grand Piano function. The PSR295 comes with 135 built-in styles which will follow your playing like a built-in band. Choose from one of the 30 internal or 70 CD-ROM songs, or download songs from the Web.

Many people are looking for a way to 'test the waters' before making a commitment to music lessons, or purchasing a full-sized piano. Even with its entry-level price point, the Yamaha PSR-295 has enough features to keep people interested in learning and playing music for years, including songs, sounds, computer connectivity and compatibility that were found on much more expensive products.

The Yamaha PSR-295 is easy to carry, and can be battery operated with six "D" cells (not included) or connected to an optional power adaptor.

Questions

Hi Howard,

I read all you answers on how to buy a piano with great interest and it has been very helpful.

I am looking to buy a beginners keyboard for my son. You had suggested Yamaha PSR 295. Now that it is discontinued & its replacement I’m told is Yamaha PSR-E403. Would I suggest that I buy E403?

I would be very grateful for any help that you could provide.

Regards, hima.

Hi Hima

Yes, the PSRE403 is the replacement for the PSR295.

This is the one to go for.

Here is the place I recommend buying it from:
