The Portable Grand™ button lets you instantly call up an authentic stereo grand piano sound, while the Yamaha Education Suite 5 features make learning and practicing music more fun than ever before. The Yamaha PSR-E203 also has a rich Reverb effect, letting you add concert-hall ambience to your performance.

  • Convenient Portable Grand™ button lets you instantly call up Yamaha's world-famous grand piano sound
  • New Yamaha Education Suite 5 features
  • 102 built-in songs–for easy learning with the Y.E.S. 5 System

  • Sound Effect Kit lets you play a variety of unique effect sounds and DJ sounds directly from the keyboard

Portable Grand: Industry's Best Piano

One press of the Portable Grand button resets the entire keyboard to a stereo-sampled piano -- perfect for when it's time to practice. Yamaha is known around the world for the quality of their acoustic pianos and this attention to detail is evident as you enjoy the warmth and clarity of the PSRE203 Portable Grand piano. And of course, the keyboard includes a Sustain Pedal jack on the back for practicing and playing piano pieces.

Features:

Portable Grand: Industry's best piano

Interactive Yamaha Education Suite V5

Sound Effect Kit: Cool sounds and grooves

Computer Connectivity: General MIDI (GM)

Sound Quality: Real stereo

32-note polyphony

9 digital reverb effects

102 Internal songs

Chord Dictionary and built-in metronome

Yamaha Education Suite: Helps You Learn to Play
The PSR-E203 has 102 built-in songs for you to learn to play, using the Yamaha Education Suite. The songs are separated into left and right hand parts, providing 7 levels of lessons plus a convenient chord dictionary

3 Keyboard Lessons for Each Hand
Lesson 1 - LISTEN & LEARN the melody or rhythm of a selected song.
Lesson 2 - TIMING mode allows you to play the melody or chord by pressing any key using the correct timing.
Lesson 3: WAITING mode stops the playback of a song until you find the correct note and then continues.

Lesson Grading -- monitors your progress as you practice each lessons two and three and gives you a grade.

Chord Dictionary -- shows you how to play chords and tells you which chords you are playing by displaying the notes and chord name on the LCD screen.

Sound Effect Kit
If your kid doesn't think playing keyboard is cool, wait 'til he hears this keyboard! Get the world of Hip Hop and all the hottest sound effects in your Yamaha keyboard. Push the Sound Effect button, hold down a key with your right hand, and you're groovin?!

Computer Connectivity: General MIDI (GM) compatible
The music pathway to your computer and the Internet is MIDI. It's the way that keyboards communicate with computers. And because the PSR-E203 is General MIDI (GM) compatible, you have access to thousands of MIDI song files on the Internet.

Sound Quality: Real Stereo (Not just 2 Speakers)
Some keyboards have 2 speakers but aren't stereo. Don't be fooled. Just because a keyboard has 2 speakers doesn't mean that it's truly stereo with 2 separate amplifiers. All Yamaha Portable Keyboards feature stereo-sampling technology.

32-Note Polyphony and 16 Part Multi Timbrel
In electronic keyboards, the more sounds made at the same time -- polyphony -- the more memory is needed. Obviously, more is always better, because too little polyphony can cause dropouts in dense passages of music. Some keyboards at this price point have only 12-note polyphony. The PSR-E203 has 32 notes of polyphony and will play back 16 different parts or sounds at once (16-part multi timbrel); enough for the most demanding needs.

Reverb
Yamaha has long been a world leader in digital signal processing technology. In fact, Yamaha professional audio products are found in most professional recording studios around the world. The PSR-E203 takes full advantage of this know-how, giving you an extensive range of nine, top-quality reverb effects that simulate playing in everything from a small room to a large spacious concert hall; a first in this price range.

Metronome
Just what the teacher ordered! A fully adjustable metronome is just a button push away.

Auto Accompaniment Styles
In addition to the 102 songs mentioned above, the PSR-E203 also has auto accompaniment styles that 'follow' your playing. Simply select a style of music from the 100 built-in Styles (example Rock), play a single note or chord on the left side of the keyboard and play your melody on the right side. The PSR-E203 will create a backup band (bass, drums, strings, guitar etc.) and 'follow' you through the song. You can play your songs and try different genres of music. It's both fun and entertaining.

Voices
The PSR-E203 comes with a selection of 134 General MIDI compatible voices for you to choose from, including the Portable Grand voice mentioned above. Just some of the great sounds you'll find in this keyboard are trumpets, violins, electric pianos, harpsichord, organ, guitars and bass guitar.

Connectivity
The PSR-E203 features MIDI In/Out, Sustain Pedal jack and a Headphone jack for private practice.

Don't forget your Survival Kit!
Designed to provide you with everything you need to get started. Includes a Yamaha PA3C power adaptor, foot switch, 2-year extended warranty, stereo headphones, Bonus coupons, Yamaha Survival Kit DVD-ROM.
