Questions
I rang the other day with an enquiry for a potential part exchange. I have a baby grand piano that we unfortunately do not have room for any longer, and would potentially be looking to replace it with an upright.
I’m attaching photos of my piano. It is a Winkelmann, the measurements are just over 5ft in length (160cm from the very front of the piano to level with the back legs) and just under 5ft across (approximately 151cm from longest width – the piano lid).
Dating prior to my ownership of it, there are a couple of white paint marks on the piano as per my photos, and it has also previously been stained and there are some marks, see photos.
Please could you let me know if you would be interested in my piano – either as a standalone purchase or as part of an exchange? I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking for in an upright yet, but for the space where it could go I think I would possibly need a 6 octave piano
or a slightly smaller one in length.
Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you. My number is 07794092207 if it would help to speak. We live in Sawbridgeworth, East Hertfordshire.
Reply/ Hi Sophie
Yes, we are interested in part-exchanging your grand piano
for an upright piano, but wouldn’t take it as a standalone purchase.
We have three, 6-octave (76 keys) space-saving upright pianos
at the moment: Brinsmead, Giles and Bentley.
You can see them here
The Giles plays the nicest out of the three.
It’s an attractive looking piano with a warm tone.
The keys are also quite responsive under the fingers.
You can read more about the Giles here
We also have a compact 85 key Kemble piano here
The Kemble piano suitable for any level of playing.
Its sound is warm and resonant, and key mechanism
is responsive. It’s really nice to play.
A preliminary part-ex offer would be £50 to £150,
as it’s a very old grand, and moving it is very costly.
We would need to come and inspect it before
committing to our offer.
Please let me know if you would like to come
and view the upright pianos in our Enfield store.
Yours pianistically
Graham Howard
