    Assembly

The piano comes flat-packed and is easy to put together. The electronics, keyboard and pedals are fixed in – all you have to do is assemble the stand which consists of 2 legs, a back board, and a bottom board. There is only a few screws that fix the stand to the keyboard. I advise two people to do the job though – purely because of the keyboard’s weight. The piano is heavy, and it’s safer to have a helping hand when lifting it on to the stand.

    Questions and Answers

Graham Howard Piano Adviser ” The two most important things you need from a digital piano when you’re learning is a realistic touch and an authentic piano tone. It must feel close to the weight and response of a real piano and have a minimum of 4 dynamic levels. Size, weight, and ‘bells and whistles’ shouldn’t  be a deciding factor in your purchase “, Graham Howard, Piano Advisor

“What do you think of the EZ-102 one for a beginner?”

    Hi Graham,

I am planning to rent-to-buy the Broadway EZ102.

What do you think of this one for a beginner? I am coming back to learning piano after almost 30 years – I took classes when I was 10 years old for about 5 years – I am 39 now and am assuming that I have to start from scratch.

Please let me know the details of rent-to-buy one of these options – how we can proceed, how long does it take to transport the piano, how I pay etc. I am moving houses in a couple of weeks so would be best to have it delivered to the new one.

    Thanks
    Stella

    Reply/ Dear Stella

Yes, the Broadway EZ-102 is a good piano
    for you to re-learn on.
It has fully-weighted keys and a good key touch response
that will take you up to at least an intermediate level.

It has a warm, natural piano tone that’s pleasing
to the ears. No harshness, or notes standing out.
It sounds even throughout the entire range.

I recommend this piano for you.

Delivery takes just a few days, so we can
deliver to you now, or after you’ve moved,
    if you prefer.

    Yours pianistically

    Graham Howard

I’m looking for a cheap digital piano/ keyboard to get for my father who already has an acoustic piano, but he’d like to play his harpsichord music, and would like a keyboard that does a good harpsichord sound. The problem is that we don’t want to spend too much as he does already have a piano that is his main instrument, as well as space constraints.
Would you have any ideas on this?
    I would appreciate it.

    Thanks, Alice Wood

    Hi Alice

I have tried out the harpsichord sound on
lots of digital pianos in the lower price bracket.
The most realistic harpsichord sound is on
the Broadway EZ-102. You can see this here.

The EZ-102 is a lovely piano.
It has 88 fully-weighted keys that feel close to
playing a real piano. And the piano tone is warm
    and resonant.

    Yours pianistically,
    Graham Howard

“Why is the EZ-102 suitable mostly for beginners?”

My father is looking at buying a digital piano, having previously owned an acoustic one many years back.
He sent me link about the Broadway EZ-102.

I have never heard of this brand, which makes me concerned.

Reading the reviews, why is it good for ‘beginners’ and ‘first entry’ piano users?
Is it not recommended for slightly more advanced players?

    Your advice is appreciated.

    Kind regards, Michael

Reply/ It is recommended for beginners in particular, because
it has fully-weighted keys, unlike many pianos around
    its price point.

It would also be suitable for intermediate players
up to around grade 6 level.

The Broadway has an authentic piano tone and
    response key touch.
    I recommend this for you.

    Regards
    Graham

    Hello Graham,

    Your information is very Useful.
We are narrowing down on some options.
The Hadley D10 is price – quality top. Due to it’s Full weighted keys. Dynamic response of 3 steps. And its more than adequate boxes. Also nice design.
The Broadway 102 for the same price would win cause (white colour) and he’s 4cm less deep, which is important to me.
Some friends are coming over to London this week by car. Is the 2nd handed Hadley D10 something that would easily fit in a station wagon?
Also not sure if I can convince them but it’s worth the try…
I also came across an “old” Clavinova CLP 920 for 475 euro’s… Could this do the job? (state of piano should be perfect…)
Anyway, I’ll make a review of any piano we’ll buy. It’s the least I can do for you…

    Greetings, Koen

    Hi Koen
That is a very old Yamaha.
I really don’t recommend getting something
of this age. It is near the end of its life.

The Hadley D10 or Broadway EZ-102 should fit into
a station wagon. The legs can be taken off if it doesn’t.
We have both these pianos on display in our Enfield,
Worcester and Northamptonshire stores, and you are
    welcome to take away either.

We are open on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.

    Kind regards

    Hello Graham,

I m pooling for a good starters digital piano for my son.
I game cross the Dynatone slp 300. 3 headed old for 400 euro.
    Is this a good one?

    Greetings,
    Koen

    Reply/ Hi Koen

The Dynatone SLP300 has light-weighted keys.,
so I don’t recommend this for your son to learn on.
He needs something with fully-weighted keys.
    This is very important.

Fully-weighted keys will train his fingers in the
correct way, and it will build his finger strength
so he can easily transfer to a real piano in the
    future without a struggle.
Also, most exam centres have real pianos.
There’s two pianos I would like to recommend for
your son: Hadley D10 and Broadway EZ-102.

They both have 88 fully-weighted keys, which is
the main criteria all piano teachers insist on.

    You can see them here:
    Hadley D10
    Broadway EZ102

      “The piano plays extremely well”

I bought my 9 year old daughter a digital ez102 Broadway piano in polished ebony from UKPianos recently. She first tried it out in the showroom and was allowed to practice on several models without any fuss or pressure before making a choice. Graham’s piano rating really helped me to be sure of my decision and a few days later I collected it myself from the warehouse where the guys were very helpful.

Since bringing it home we have found that the piano plays extremely well and are very happy with the purchase.

All in all an excellent experience at a very competitive price!

“The EZ-102 compares favourably with other similar priced models”

I looked at the guide to help me decide which digital piano to buy. I had seen the Broadway ez-102 and I wanted to see how it compared to others. I knew it was a basic / starter model but wanted to see how it compared to pianos priced slightly higher as I didn’t want to spend more than £600.

I am a primary school teacher and play the piano to Grade 4. I wanted a basic model that was better than a keyboard for practising songs for school and also for my two children to start to learn to play.

The guide allowed me to choose the piano without having to go to various stores – the model I was looking at seemed to compare favourably with other similar priced models and so I bought one. I won’t know if I made the right decision until the piano arrives, but I am optimistic!

      “A Successful Outcome”

      FOR UK PIANO SHOP ENFIELD
We bought a Broadway EZ102 and I can only be grateful to Graham Howard of UK Pianos for his help and encouragement in the very difficult task of choosing a digital piano – his “Howard Scale” was a master plan of points awarded to each model for comparison and price, something I doubt you would be presented with anywhere else.
I am sure this scale and his many e-mails of help and encouragement towards obtaining the right piano for my granddaughter was invaluable and made a successful outcome inevitable.
I TAKE GREAT PLEASURE IN AWARDING “UK PIANOS” (*****) 5 STARS and wish them every success for the future.

      “A versatile home instrument”

I am very pleased with my recently purchased Broadway ez102. This piano has a very pleasant piano tone, which is the one I use chiefly. The other instrumental colours are effective. The touch of the keyboard is even and expressive.

The various features offered are very useful, including a recording facility to record and playback, making it a very versatile home instrument representing excellent value for money and I am happy to recommend it to others.

      “It just keeps giving”

I have had the Broadway EZ 102 for around 18 months, and I would like to
thank you for recommending this piano to me.

I had never before tried to play the piano although I have dabled in the past
with a keyboard but since the ownership of this piano the keyboard hasn’t had
the cover taken off of it.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of the piano itself it just has that
real piano sound to it. Also it was great to have weighted keys which could
be turned off or semi weighted which ever you prefer.

I have taken piano lessons since having this beautiful piece of furniture which
takes up very little room, and have been delighted by it performance.
It just keeps giving with all the different sounds, plus different voices and
demos that you never bore of.

I would highly recommend this piano to anyone whether they are just starting
      out or are accomplished.

      Many thanks for everything

I bought the Broadway ez102 piano for my two daughters. They absolutely love it! I tried it myself and I like the feel of the keys. You get good resistance from them. At the moment my daughters are having their lessons online and their teacher has said the sound of the piano is very good. Overall we are very happy with this piano. We are also very happy with the service from UK Pianos. They gave very good advice and were always happy to answer our questions.

Once again, thank you for your excellent service.
