Digital Piano Bible – 7 Things You Must Know

12th June 2017 By Graham Howard 5 Comments

Dear Mr. Graham,

I received a copy of Your book and I find it very usefull not only as advice what to
buy but as an good explanation of basic terms regarding pianos. Since I have a child at
the begining of study piano playing, Your book is helping me to decide what should I buy
for him. Buying a piano is delicate job, kind of lifetime investment, so I am very
gratefull to You for this book.

Your’s pianistically-to-be,
A.Popovic

Thanks, Graham. Terrific book that you compiled. Lots of useful
information that is well explained. A good friend will be assisting with my
selection, so I have all the information that I need. Thanks again — you
really provided a good primer on the terminology as well as a sense for the
true impact of some of the features — i.e., distinguishing the vital from
the superfluous. Cheers, Jim

Dear Mr.Graham Howard,

I find your site fantastic. Hope you will never stop sharing the love and
knowledge for the piano

Dear Graham,

Thank you so much for being so generous and kind to provide invaluable knowledge
about digital piano. I am in debt to you. I will surely spend time to read your
book but at first thank you and have a great time.

Best regards
Rony

I’ve been pouring over your book as I’m trying to get the best
digital piano for learning on (both myself and my young daughters) without spending
too much, as it may end up a white elephant

Jackie

—

Thanks for your book, it’s been such a helpful guide to helping me choose an digital piano
and broaden my knowledge

Thanks a lot for this interesting compilation!

Kind regards from Austria!

Hi Graham,

I’ve downloaded and read most of your book and I must say I’m very impressed
of your enthusiasm and dedication to pianos.

Carl

Dear Mr.Howard,

Confirming the receipt of your helpful book.
Thank you for giving such a guide to non-professionals. I honestly hope it will help in
getting a decision which DP should I get for my two future pianists.
Regards from Macedonia.

Hi Graham

Thank you very much for your speedy response.

After I e-mailed you yesterday I went on to read your digital piano guide, and I found it brilliant! Considering i am non-musical I found it easy to read and it answered any questions I had with sensible practical advice. So thank you very much for that too.

Hello Graham,

I must say the book was an absolute life-saver. I would have ended up buying
some cheap, horrible thing off ebay if it hadn’t been for the book! You
really do provide a good service for people

John

—

I was in the market for a digital piano and your ebook really helped me.
Thank you for taking the time to compile the information and most of all
thank you for sharing it with everyone!

Sharon

Dear Graham,
your booklet was very helpful in deed, thanks a lot. I especially liked the part
where you describe all the unnecessary features, as this was for me the critical
point, finding out the minimum required for a piano beeing a good investment and
what is overkill

Jacob, Sweden

Dear Graham

Thank you very much for your informative booklet! It helped me a great deal, and
gave me a lot of confidence talking to the sales people.

Hi Graham,

Thank you for your email and your fantastic info on digital pianos, I can’t tell you how
helpful it was.
I’ve been gabbling away like a real tech-head since I read it, so helpful to understand
all the terms.

What a wonderful resource you have provided, thank you!

Warm Regards
Nat

Dear Mr Howard:

I’m deeply grateful for your work. Two days ago, I was close to a 3800 euros spending
for a modus r01, and not so happy with its truly fashionable look. Reading the “7….”,
I have developed prettly persuaded about my real needs (my sons and wife’s needs, in fact).
We have bought, for half the price, a clp 370, that is a wonderful piano for us. (we had
an “old” roland, 20 years of nice work -expecting another 20-, which will travel to a friends home).

Dear Mr. Howard:

I am writing to you from El Salvador. I have studied your book and it has op-
pened my eyes with respect to the subject. I thank you for it.

Graham

Your book is excellent! A very helpful guide for a novice like me. I’ve
not found anything else so informative. Thank you so much for making it
available.

Hi, Graham.

Thank you so much for your brilliant guide, that’s exactly what I needed to know before buying a piano.

Thanks for the simply excellent service you provide on your (superb) site.

I’ve learnt more in two days than I imagined possible!

I was surprised that Yamaha ranked so highly– or at least that they beat
out Roland in your estimation. I’ve had my Roland 300RDS for a good many
years (perhaps for too long)–moved it to New Zealand with me from the US
and moved with it several times. Good for being portable and it’s served my
needs pretty well. The touch and maybe the warm Steinway sound have been
part of the appeal. But I really feel I’d like to have a more substantial
instrument with a built-in speaker system.

I was thinking of another Roland–the higher end digital pianos seemed a
good possibility– but I guess I’ll go and give the Yamahas a try and see
how they feel/sound. I know that in the past I’ve never been crazy about the
acoustic Yamaha sound–always seemed a bit too brittle or glassy (not sure
how to describe it). So am curious if the digital instrument comes across
that way as well.

Thanks for the information–it’s good to have an idea of what’s out there
since I haven’t really been paying attention to the market for quite awhile.

Cheers,

Judith Bernanke

You’re guide has really increased my knowledge in pianos, and I thank you for making it

Jason

Dear Graham Howard,

A problem with my Technics P30 (1997) set me researching a replacement, and your guidance seemed practical, direct and objective, and it was easy to relate to my circumstances.
In this part of Devon, my preferred approach of trying out a shortlist of machines from 2/4 manufacturers is no longer an option as music shops have closed (even in large cities), or now carry only one make. For the moment I’ve been let off the hook because the problem has been fixed, or so it appears, though I’ll worry about a recurrence part way through an event. However, I do now have time to think and your book provides ample food for thought.

Thankyou…John

Thanks again for your time and effort into writing your book. I could not
have made my comparisons so had it not been for your informative book.

Kind regards

Many thanks for your most detailed information – I could never have come to a clear and confident decision without your help. You are obviously dedicated to ensuring folks dont buy the wrong piano for their specific needs. Tremendous!

Thanks again

Hi Graham,

I have to say I found your book on buying a digital piano very helpful- I felt like I knew something about them when I went into the store to buy and when the salesman was talking about different features it actually meant sense to me!
Your reviews of all the different types/makes of pianos was good- I never realised there were so many to choose from- it helped me narrow my choice down to suit my needs & budget.

Now my daughter is looking forward to learning to play and I am going to try to start to play again after giving up about 25 years ago!

Thanks again

Dear Graham

My eight year old daughter started piano lessons two months ago and the fact that we had to buy a digital piano without even knowing the basics was really giving us a headache. We went to several stores, we got several leaflets and we got even more confused!

Your book helped us a lot! reading all that detailed information made us feel more confident now for such big purchase. Making commends for each brand was even more helpful

I had piano lessons as a 10 year old,I then turned to football so gave the lessons up.
I am now in my late 80 s and using a 61 key keyboard to learn again.
I am not quite happy with the piano sound on the keyboard, so I am looking to buy a digital piano around the 4 to 500 mark, it looks like your advice is for me.
    thank you, Harry.
