Digital Piano Bible – 7 Things You Must Know

12th June 2017 By Graham Howard 7 Comments

Hi Graham,
Thank you so much for all your help and advice, having read your book “7 Things You MUST Know Before
You Buy a Digital Piano” I made the decision to go for the Clavinova CLP 440.

As Yamaha was one that you recommended to me from my list of three choices.
Normans, again a site that you recommend (and I told them so)
Had an offer and I saved another 10%. (it arrives on the 9th Jan 2012)

Playing piano is something that I’ve wanted to do for some 25 years, so obviously this is not just a whim, and after corresponding with yourself – and
Reading your book, I decided I wasn’t ready to buy a piano – I was ready to INVEST in a beautiful instrument.
Thank you for all your help, I couldn’t have made this choice without your guidance.

I’m sure we will continue to correspond in the future.
Regards and Thanks
Dave Lewis

Hi Graham,

first of all, congratulations on such a splendid tutorial for digital piano noobs as I am,
must say it was a revelation to me. Sure, I’ve found a bunch of info on the internet, but
you compendium beats them all, plus gives weight to different terms, so I can sort them
by importance, not just by understanding them or not 🙂

Hello Graham,

Your free online guide to buying a piano is a gem of help – even though I’ve slowed down in my project of acquiring an instrument (owing to pressure of everything else in life), I’ve much appreciated reading your advice on every aspect to be considered.

I would like to praise your book. I get piano lessons. This Christmas my parents gave me a digital piano. I wanted to find out more about my digital piano. My parents bought it – I didn’t choosed it, so I knew nothing about it. My digital piano is a Ringway TG 8865. You don’t write much about Ringway. I read your book and tested it on my digital piano. You really enlightened me and now I more clearly see the kind piano you play on have a huge impact on the music you play – got a better feeling for it. To begin with I concentrated on learning and didn’t thought much about what kind of piano I played on. Thanks for have written the book =:0)

Hi Graham,

Many thanks again for all the information you have kindly provided over the last few weeks. I would have found the whole prospect of purchasing a new digital piano daunting to say the least without having your guide. This valuable book enabled me to quickly highlight my specific needs in a piano, and delete so many models which would not have provided me with what I wanted.

Bob

—

Thank you Graham.

I had trouble opening the document at first but all right now. I have made a decision about buying the piano mostly before I looked at your book but it has confirmed many of the things I learned about the hard way and I will keep it for browsing in any case. It is still extremely useful. Much appreciated.

Hello Graham

Thank you for the extensive and professional review. In the family whoever studied piano they played on classic mechanic pianos we needed your book to understand the whole idea behind it.

I had piano lessons as a 10 year old,I then turned to football so gave the lessons up.
I am now in my late 80 s and using a 61 key keyboard to learn again.
I am not quite happy with the piano sound on the keyboard, so I am looking to buy a digital piano around the 4 to 500 mark, it looks like your advice is for me.
    thank you, Harry.
