Digital Piano Bible – 7 Things You Must Know

12th June 2017 By Graham Howard 7 Comments

Hi Graham

Thank you a lot for helping me to choose my first piano. Your book
helped me a lot. I have ordered Yamaha CLP 340. So, it should be
delivered in a day or so. Probably, Yamaha should pay you some bonus 🙂

Dear Grahamchec

Thankyou for your wonderful book regarding ” 7 things you must know before buying a Digital Piano ”. It’s an excellent book of information which everyone must read and know before buying a Digital Piano for two reasons, first it is an major investment and second the investment should be worthy. I must say that you book answers all of the questions. It is written in simple language and avoids music jargon helpful for parents who are not music savvy

Gowry

–

Hi Graham,

Information on your web site and your reviews helped us close the deal on
CLP-330. This is for our kids and I will request my daughter to write the
review on this. Thanks much for providing very good information which was
very helpful for us to choose the correct piano.

thanks!

–

Graham. You are certainly a great resource for anyone like me seeking an adventure with the piano

Barbara

–

Thanks for your piano guide!

if you buy something which is listed in the top of Brand like Yamaha, you limit the risk.
If you do some test like doing the scales G major; C major in different dynamics like FORTE =FFF or FF or F then in Mezzo forte then in Piano = P or Pianissimo = PP
or PPP and got a very good range it’s a very good sign.
The range I ‘ve got is PP; P, mF; F; FF
A very good piano have PPP and FFF

Hello Graham
I didn’t download the book with an immediate purchase in mind but rather to understand some of the “jargon.” I teach piano using a Kawai which I didn’t choose myself and don’t like. I had a Roland previously – whioch I loved – until after 15 years it “blew up” – died with a big bang. Your book is certainly helpful with the explanations I need to give when parents ask for my advice. Then they go and buy a Delson piano even though I have said don’t.

Hello Graham,

I’ve reading your newsletter & e-mails with much interest especially the
one about “7…” and earlier write-ups, too.

Logistically, I’m challenged to procure any from said country as I’m
residing in Malaysia. My interest has been into electronic keyboards and
I’m just a starter to this pursuit.

Anyway, I’d like to thank you for your informative guide & it certainly
clears the hazy air around the so numerous options available.

Thanks & regards,
Levin

Dear mister Graham Howard,

I’ve read your book several times, and learnt a lot out of it. I love the
way you go into detail to explain what is important and what not.

Thank you in advance and thanks again for writing this great explanation
about digital pianos.

With sincere greetings,

Bart

Hi Graham

Read through your e-book, and thanks! its definitely helping me frame my ideas.
Thanks so much for writing your piano guide, whatever i buy (or if i dont buy anything!) its been hugely instructional!

It is amazing that you have produced this material and it is very
impressive and will be useful to so many people.

Thank you.

Hi Graham

Many thanks for putting your book up on line.
I found it to be a really informative read!

I play a Petrof upright piano at the minute, and have a love-hate
relationship with it!
It has a bright singing tone, and when it’s kept finely tuned, it sounds well.

Not now, but sometime in the future, I will get a really good digital piano.

Your book will come in very handy when I’m in a position to choose one.

I live in Dublin, so I can’t nip into your shop and throw a nice new
digital piano over my shoulder to bring home!! (Alas)!

Dear Graham,

We’ve chosen a digital piano (but are just waiting for its delivery – should be any day now). Given the excellence of the help you offer,
it would have been nice to do business through you but we live in Milan, Italy, and obviously chose a local outlet.
Your free-book/guide to choosing and buying a digital piano was great and we followed much of the advice.

Thanks again for the great encouragement/advice and moral support that your albeit virtual presence provided.

Graham,

Thank you so so so much for your wonderful advice. You opened my eyes to going beyond
the Yamaha budget line to a much higher quality digital piano.
Your wonderful advice, support and taking the time to respond to my email.
You really are an angel.

Sincerely, enthusiastically, and thanking you greatly,

Beth

Hi Graham,

thank you for the very usefull information booklet.

I kept on reading reviews in specialised publications but could not make sense of the various features they mentioned and your explanations definitely helped with the jargon.

You’re doing a wonderful work, thank you for your advice!

I had piano lessons as a 10 year old,I then turned to football so gave the lessons up.
I am now in my late 80 s and using a 61 key keyboard to learn again.
I am not quite happy with the piano sound on the keyboard, so I am looking to buy a digital piano around the 4 to 500 mark, it looks like your advice is for me.
    thank you, Harry.
