Hello Graham,
Thank you very much for the piano buying guide – I knew nothing about pianos & now I feel as though I know something though not quite enough to make the right decision in my purchase but at least I’m down to two choices now rather than hundreds!

Dear Mr Howard,
Thank you for your concern.
I already got your book.
I am reading and reading…
You dug it deep in very details, too many things I haven’t known. The book is so useful that I don’t believe it’s free.
It contain so much your experiences, so much your time.
I greatly appreciate your kindness.
Kind regards,
Phuc

Graham,
A huge thank you for helping me find my way through the minefield of digital pianos. I haven’t necessarily come up with the ‘right one’ just yet but I feel that I understand the relative merits of each.

thanks for Your e-guide. When I decided to get my first digital piano, I had no idea what make or model I would eventually choose to get. I guess my requirements were pretty much the same as anyone else’s — a natural piano sound and a quality keyboard, the rest would be just gravy. I had spent quite a few evenings researching before I came across Your guide, but it really did help me a lot in finding out what all those terms surrounding digital pianos mean — and much more! However, I still was not entirely sure what make/model I wanted — having read Your guide, I ended up with a toss-up between Yamaha and Roland. (Which is quite funny considering I wanted a Kurzweil at first and was firmly convinced of the correctness of my choice; a friend of mine who is a long-time acoustic piano player made me reconsider it, though, after I played a sound demo of that Kurzweil for him; he knew the moment the demo started playing that it was not a real acoustic piano.)
Your guide really was instrumental (pun intended) in helping me choose the right instrument for me. Thanks very much for that!

Hi Graham,
yep, an awesome guide and reference there. It clears up a lot of points of confusion and cuts through the bull shit, like digital piano makers copying faults in the mechanics of acoustic pianos just for gimmicks and dollars!
Sadly I am slightly too poor at the moment to purchase a piano so I am just gonna have to start saving! I will email you when I get to the point of buying a piano…
cheers,
Louie

We moved house a day or two after I first contacted you, and we have been without internet access – and in a state of chaos ever since.
When we moved, there was a lot of doubt about whether we would be able to get our beautiful (and very large!) Bechstein upright up the stairs to our new flat – so I began to wonder whether we might have to replace it with a digital piano. A friend recommended the Yamaha CLP 480 as a possible choice.
Now that I am back online, I have managed to download Graham Howard’s very helpful book – although I haven’t yet been able to work out exactly where on my computer it has been saved. I see that you rate the CLP 480 very highly.
It may be that the old Bechstein proves to be too noisy for the new flat. If its volume bothers the occupants above or below us, I may well have to reconsider the possibility of a digital piano. If so, I hope you won’t mind if I ask you some questions.
I have greatly appreciated your help. It’s very good to have had an expert to guide me through unknown territory!
With best wishes,
Nicholas

“It cut through the fog of trying to buy a digital piano”
Dear Graham
The information on your website and your buying guide was written so expertly and straight that within an hour I’d absorbed all the critical points,
cut entirely through the fog of trying to buy a digital piano and made my decision which model to buy.
However, we are still hoping to come and see one tomorrow and see if I was right!
Best wishes

Hi Graham
Your guide to the top ten or twenty pianos in each price bracket was invaluable, along with your concise notes on what all the features meant and what was important and why.
Without this guide I would have been clueless. I also appreciated your email advice that narrowed the field to suit my particular situation, it can be overwhelming otherwise.
Thanks for putting this guide out there for all to peruse.

“Your guide was so clear and straight forward to use”
Your digital piano guide is second to none – we never realised there were so any areas to consider when embarking on our search for a digital piano.
Your guide was so clear and straight forward to use – as novices to this field we were definitely at the mercy of the salespeople in our local piano shops
and would have undoubtedly ended up with an inferior piano if we hadn’t used your guide.
kind regards
Debbie

“There is nothing better than reading a document written in clear English by a man who knows what he is talking about”
Hi Graham
I didn’t manage to download your book before I had to buy the digital piano I needed for an event, so I acted on instinct and ended up with a Roland.
However the book has now downloaded and I have read it, and I want to say that it is BRILLIANT.
There is nothing better than reading a document written in clear English by a man who knows what he is talking about because he has done a great deal of careful research. Your book has enormous value. Thankyou for writing it.
I’d also just like to say that the Casio Privia needs to be avoided : very nice piano on the face of it, good sound-quality at the start, but in my experience the action and the sound both very quickly deteriorate to an unacceptable level. Perhaps because I’m a professional concert pianist I tend to hit pianos harder than most people ! but a piano should be able to cope with regular use, and this one didn’t. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Good wishes and thanks for all your hard work, it’s worth it.

I had piano lessons as a 10 year old,I then turned to football so gave the lessons up.
I am now in my late 80 s and using a 61 key keyboard to learn again.
I am not quite happy with the piano sound on the keyboard, so I am looking to buy a digital piano around the 4 to 500 mark, it looks like your advice is for me.
thank you, Harry.
