Thanks for your very helpful book and hints about the different digital pianos.
I am starting to test the ones in our local shop to find the one which I like the best (using your hints & tips).
Your book is very detailed and explains things very well and that is always of great help.
Just an email to say thank you very much for your research on digital pianos. It clearly has taken some time to put together the guide, and you have also tried to keep it neutral. It has several useful tips and helps by indicating the key useful features for a piano, rather than the ones that are heavily marketed.
Although I am only thinking about this for the future (used to play the piano many years ago, and may like to start playing again !) , I really found your guide helpful and concise.
I have just purchased a Yamaha CLP330 and am delighted. I liked it when I tried it and heard it
but the guidance in your book and the piano reviews gave me the knowledge and confidence to make
the purchase. Thanks for making a difficult process a lot easier.
I have just sifted through your comprehensive guide to the different options for digital pianos,
and I must say that I thought it was an excellent piece altogether, you are to be commended for
your knowledge of the industry and clarity of thought.
I’d like to thank you for your guide on digital pianos. It helped a lot in coming to my decision, especially the 6 simple tests
and your breakdown of the various companies in terms of reliability, resale value etc. Also the comment about shops
pushing Kawai digitals turned out to be very useful, I went to a shop to try the Kawai ES6 and they seem to push
them quite aggressively.
Hi there Graham
Many many thanks for your excellent booklet on all things relating to the purchase of a piano.
Yes, I am a beginner in Piano’s world, studing less than 1 year.
When I found you guide I thought “it is unbelieable!”. And it is: your work is a special kind of charity.
Here in Brazil a piano (digital or acustic) is very VERY expensive. As I am going to Germany to stays some weeks (for working) I decided to buy a digital one there and your book, my brother, will save my life! 🙂
I have not started to read but I would like to thank you in advance.
Thanks Graham for your book. I have found it really useful. I actually decided to head to your store in Enfield last Thursday so I could test out and listen to the sound of some digital pianos, only to be greeted with an M25 jam out of Watford.
Thanks you for putting together that booklet; reading it has been extremely useful in my search for
a digital piano. It was particularly useful to read what you said about key escapement as I had been
wondering why the higher-end Yamahas and Rolands felt slightly “juddery” to play.
I think you are great to offer all this free advice to people and it is very much appreciated.
Ukpianos is by far the most useful site I have been on. The guide you have sent me is invaluable.
Buying a digital piano is a confusing process however coming
across you booklet was a godsend and I would like to thank you for the
time and trouble you have obviously taken to produce this tome.
I read your 7 guides to buying a digital piano yesterday – so insightful and has given me a little confidence in an area I had found rather daunting and overwhelming.
Hi Graham, I really appreciate all the effort you put in to aid my piano choice. Your book proved useful in the final selection and I have narrowed it down to two.
Thanks for the guide – very informative & useful!
The ladyfriend wants to take up piano on retirement, lives in a small flat, & the cheapest weighted Casio
( a PX330..?) available in Edinburgh at a bit over £300 was my first thought…. Your guide has opened up
the options considerably, so thanks again.
Many thanks for the free copy of your Digital Piano Guide which I found extremely helpful
Thank you for your message, and congratulations for your book “7 Things You”, it is by far the best guide I have read for choosing a digital piano. I found it very complete, clear and extremely useful.
Many thanks for you e-book which I have read from ‘cover to cover’. I must say that I found it extremely helpful.
I’m Sergio, from Brazil. First, I’d like to thank you for the book. It really helped me to quickly understand all the vernacular related to digital pianos
Thanks so much for the impressive and extensive digital piano guide! I have been researching for almost a month now and I was originally going to purchase the Yamaha ydp 181. I’m now going to go for the yamaha clp 470. Truly your guide has been a huge help for me! BIG thanks!
Many thanks for your attention regarding downloading your book. I have read it with interest and congratulate you on your succinct presentation of the facts and also on quantifying an assessment of the various brands of digital piano.
I appreciate your follow up. I read your whole treatise, and feel I know a lot more than before, though some aspects of a complicated subject remain a little unclear. I’m a classical pianist, conductor, recording producer retired from university administration. I own a lovely well played in Kawai 6 foot grand that is a beautiful instrument to play. I will be going through some relocation processes over the next year, and have found a friend’s home for my Kawai, so it won’t sit on its side in some warehouse.
John from Los Angeles

Your book was brilliant thank you – I was completely lost in the jargon when doing online research!
By chance I came across our website and your amazing ‘’7 Things You MUST Know Before You Buy A Digital Piano’’
Wow! It is so readable and informative, thanks, it has helped me a lot.
Thanks for sending me through your book to download. It is very intensive but I am now armed with quite a lot of information so I can approach the sales people with a lot more confidence. If I decide to eventually buy off the internet then at least I shall have all your information to hand to refer to.

So I’m about to get the Yamaha P95 or Korg SP170 fallowing your advice
