Digital Piano Bible – 7 Things You Must Know

12th June 2017 By Graham Howard 8 Comments

Graham, Many thanks for your efforts in writing what is a brilliant book on a much needed subject

Derek littlemore

Hi Graham,

I have finally taken the plunge and bought my piano. Thank you for your
very helpful information on how to interpret all the technological jargon
that surrounds them – after reading your report on them I felt a lot more
confident about what I needed

Samantha Whitehouse

Hello Graham

Thank you so much for all the information. It has been great. We have been looking into buying a digital piano and your book has been a fantastic aid.

There are so many models out there and as we are both novices, it’s very difficult to know what to go for. It’s a lot of money to spend and then find out you have made a mistake.

I think we will go for the Yamaha Clavinova some time after New Year but will have a try at one first to make sure we are happy with it.

Thank you for being so helpful. Your advice has been invaluable and I must commend you in taking the time to put all your thoughts down with no thought for material gain on your part. We do need more people like you in the world.

Carmelina

Hi Graham

Thank you for your valuable advice. On Saturday I went along to my nearest shop and purchased a Korg portable digital piano sp 250. It meets all of my requirements ie plays like a piano and fits into the very limited space that I have. With out your advice about weighted keys etc. I may not have been so succesful.

Thankyou once again.

Christine

Hi Graham,

Your book is very good and I now have a better idea about what piano would suit my
needs. The Yamaha CLP 340 seems to be ideal. I however have a soft spot for
the Kawais ( from acoustic piano days ) and will be looking to try them at
some point in time. I will consider the Kawai CA 71 also. In the mean time
I’ll have to save a lot to buy any of these. Thanks again for your help.

Matt

Hi Graham,

I got your book. It was a big help. Some of the models are not available in Australia but most were. Your book enabled us to shortlist the huge number of pianos to review which saved us a lot of time. We have chosen the Kawai CN32 which was not one of your top 10 but maybe that was because it fell into the higher price category and therefore competed with the expensive models. Now we just need to save a little more to get it.

We also came across the Galileo pianos which I didn’t see in your book. We were not so impressed with them anyway.

Thanks again for your book.

Steve

Hi Graham,

WHAT A BOOK!

There isn’t any question left behind that need to be answered. It’s a terrific guide.
I my score is 11 out of 10 for you.

Sam Brooks

Dear Graham, Your book is a jewel, a great help indeed! Many, many thanks!

I’ve been looking at brochures of digital pianos and they looked like Mandarin.
Your book made piano selection simple and straightforward. Now I’ve set my own
parameters on buying a digital piano.

Dear Graham,

Thank you for your wonderful book, it is a real treasure. I read it and everything became clear, I had no doubts which piano to choose for my 5 year old daughter. She has been learning piano for a few months, she is doing well and she is enjoying it. We have ordered Classenti CDP2 (Classenti CDP1 and Yamaha YDP160 were also considered) because we want a ‘decent family’ piano which we will not have to upgrade in a few years. I said a ‘family’ piano because I hope I can also find a few minutes every day now and learn piano too ! I have already done 2 of your free piano lessons. Thank you for your enthusiasm and professionalism.

regards
Anna

Hi Graham

Thank you so much for the book,it really helps a lot. After reading it,I decided to buy a new starter dgital piano for my 4 years old instead of a second hand one.
The book is really good, easy to understand, especially for people like me who dont know much about technical things.

Kindest, Sally

Dear Mr Graham Howard

Thank you for your valuable book. I found it very useful for choosing the appropriate digital piano comply with my needs.

Gratefully, Charles

I am still at early days with regards deciding to press ahead with purchasing a piano but this book will certainly aid me!

Kind regards,

Andy

Thank you for an excellent book. It will help me put the Kawai ES6 through the wringer

Charlie

Graham I already had a Roland RP 101 .But was considering changing for a Kawai with wooden keys .Your comments on the inclusion of natural materials in digital pianos made me rethink the whole thing .I am sticking with the piano I have .It seems good enough for the musical standard that I am at .I will keep an eye on the market and when a manufacturer makes a huge leap forward then I may reconsider .In the mean time thank you for sharing your expertise ,in a clear and concise booklet I am now content thanks
Mark

Hi Graham,

Thank-you so much for the possibility of reading all the very useful information from your book “7 things you must know before buying a digital piano”. I certainly know a lot more about choosing an appropriate digital piano then I did !

Remerciements,

Claudette

Hi Graham

Thanks so much for your book, I learned so much about choosing a digital piano and you explained a lot of things that I was concerned about like the weighted keys etc. I now know what to look out for.

Regards

Claire

Graham,

Your e-book is a nice summary of things to consider buying a piano, so it
was very useful.

I play since I was a kid, but this would be my first digital piano.
Thanks to the information I found in your e-book I learnt about different
technologies & terms, and I decided to stick with a major brand

Very seldom have I come across such an impartial view that has been written so very well.

Greg Waterson

Dear Graham,

Thank you for your email – I found your book immensely useful and it
informed my decision to by a Yamaha CLP 330, which arrived last week and is
fantastic.
Thank you very much for creating such a brilliant resource.

Kind regards,

Hilary

Thank you for the invaluable info that you provided in its pages.
Although I am a harpist, I have been thinking of learning another
instrument and the piano was my instrument of choice. I bought a
Kawai CL35.

Having problems adapting to playing on the horizontal as opposed to the
vertical side with the harp. Hopefully given time and patience I will
adapt to this AWKWARD horizontal playing.
Take care and thanks again for the invaluable info you supplied in you
publication. It went a great way in the decision to purchase the Kawai
CL .
Thanks, Tom

You are doing amazing job and I am feeling spoiled by your care. Compared to what I have experienced
several times when buying various things….
Thank you
Igor

My sister and I found your book very helpful. She is the one
purchasing the piano and I am along for moral support and as a sounding
board – no pun intended. Neither of us knew the first thing about the
technicalities of a piano so your information on what the terms mean
and what to look out for was invaluable.

Samantha

I’d like to express my appreciation for the very useful
and insightful information that you so kindly provided. I can’t begin to
tell you how refreshing it is find people willing to share their passion
for piano with others looking to begin their journey of musical self
discovery. Please rest assured…that, given the opportunity, I will
‘pay your kindness forward’.

Cheers

review of digital pianos.

Best regards,
Podgorsky

Hi Graham

Thank you for your ebook. It was very useful. It was so useful in fact that I have now decided on the piano I want to buy.

Paiolli.

Hi Graham

Thanks a lot for caring and one thousand thanks for your piano book.

My daughter,16 years young, has been playing piano some years ago and now
she wants to learn again further on we had the Yamaha CLP-320 in sight
and your comments convinced us.

The internet is fabulous.

Best regards and with all good hope for the people in Haiti

Astrid and Finn

Many thanks Graham

Have already read your piano guide through twice, and very valuable it is too.

I am tending towards a Yamaha CLP340, which I have played briefly in a shop in Bath – best price I have seen so far is £1717 (for a PE model) from reidys and dv247 which is a huge % reduction on list.

Many thanks for your help.

Jim Harris

I had piano lessons as a 10 year old,I then turned to football so gave the lessons up.
I am now in my late 80 s and using a 61 key keyboard to learn again.
I am not quite happy with the piano sound on the keyboard, so I am looking to buy a digital piano around the 4 to 500 mark, it looks like your advice is for me.
    thank you, Harry.
